Topic: Helpdesk support technician

We are looking for someone to help out on our online helpdesk. One of our support technicians who was on it is on paternity leave, so we're looking to fill the position.

Responsibilities:

- respond to customers' questions and requests about their web site and email
- for large requests or new features, obtain client's approval and send job to admin for billing
- implement new features and fix bugs
- occasionally call clients to conduct online training through presentation software
- update client web sites with text changes, photos, new graphics, etc.
- occasionally add or change client email accounts through simple web interface
- ensure that no requests are left unattended
- represent our company with integrity and a helpful attitude
- signed non-disclosure, non-compete agreement
- bi-monthly invoices with job numbers sent to our admin offices

Requirements:

- up to 20 hours per week, usually 5 to 10 hours
- 4-hour response time between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday CST
- knowledge of and experience with common web technologies
- working knowledge of WordPress as a CMS
- experience using FTP, access to FTP software
- HTML/XHTML, minimum 2 years' experience
- CSS, minimum 2 years' experience
- reliable, late-model PC or Mac computer
- Photoshop CS3 or later

Preferences:

- Basic jQuery familiarity
- PHP experience a BIG plus
- MySQL experience a plus
- SSH experience a plus
- Mac computer is preferred
- Online or in-person group training experience
- Familiarity with domain registration and DNS management
- iPhone or similar smartphone with email capabilities

This is a part-time contract position. Applicant will receive a 1099 as an independent contractor. Pay is dependent on experience, and ranges from $20 to $35 per hour.
