Topic: Netbeans IDE

Okay, this might be old news for many of you out there, but I recently discovered it.

Netbeans IDE for PHP freakin' rocks. It's available for both Win / Mac, which is why we looked into it (at work).

It's great for a mainly front-end guy like myself, because it offers plenty of contextual PHP help.

Re: Netbeans IDE

What's the performance like though Nathan? I've used Netbeans in the past and man did it eat up system resources. I found Eclipse w/ PHP Development Tools (PDT) a little better.

Exercise your faith!

I thought you guys were a .NET shop?

Re: Netbeans IDE

@Yannick -- I haven't noticed any memory problems with Netbeans. For Eclipse, their downloads page is really confusing. I liked that Netbeans had a PHP-only download.

@Tank -- We're a .NET shop, that has varying interests. Currently, we're building some stuff in PHP to consume our RESTful API. We wanted to do a proof-of-concept in something other than .NET to ensure the API works as expected.
