Topic: One page web portfolio?

How effective is a one page website portfolio. Like those where you have your contact, about, portfolio info all on one page? Is that a good approach? Let me show you an example:

This will keep you busy: http://www.onepagefolios.com/

They're as effective as you make them. As long as you provide the needed items that generate end results (probably to contact you about work), then they're just as (if not more) effective than multi-page ones. From a usability standpoint, if designed right, they're fantastic.

Thanks for the ref, I will check them out.

I like them, but they have to be done REALLY well in order for me to like them.

On that list is one of the best one-page portfolios I've ever come across: http://www.mariusroosendaal.com/

I think a lot can be taken from his approach, he has some really good implementation. Not a fan of his theme switching so much (the dark theme #2 is obviously the best tongue), but the page succinctly gets what it needs to across, and with nice space management.

Not a portfolio site, but a blog/resume/links/contact page - http://www.michaelparler.com
He's a friend of mine from school and he's got a pretty cool site I think.  Needs an update though.

Re: One page web portfolio?

Personally, I like one-page portfolio sites quite a bit. If done right, they're short and sweet, and feel so much more elegant and efficient.

The site that I'm working on for my company will be a one-page portfolio site, more or less. Since the company is actually a venture between my wife and I, there will be two pages, one for each of us. Each person's page will contain all of the info -- bio, portfolio, contact, etc. -- for that person.

At least, that's the theory.

I feel a nostalgia for an age yet to come...
