Topic: CS3 FLVPlayer loading multiple videos

I'm trying to use the FLVPlayer Component in CS3 to build a player that will play FLV files based on a variable populated by the HTML. So far I have the FLVPlayer with instance name my_FLVPlybk on the stage with this code on the first keyframe:

my_FLVPlybk.source = file;

I read that "contentPath" from Flash 8 was replaced by "source". The HTML looks like this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>

<div id="flashcontent">

</div>

<script type="text/javascript">
   var so = new SWFObject("/flash/flvplayer.swf", "Video Player", "320", "240", "8", "#ffffff");
   so.addVariable("file", "/flash/video/{news_video}");
   so.write("flashcontent");
</script>

In the above code the so.addVariable is suppose to act like FlashVars by pulling in the variable "file" and replacing it with the filename produced by Expression Engine with the {news_video} custom field. When I view the source, all of the HTML renders perfectly fine. But on the page I just get an SWF with a blinking movie icon.

Can anyone with experience with this help please?

Re: CS3 FLVPlayer loading multiple videos

for AS3 you have to use a slighly different approach:

var file:String = this.loaderInfo.parameters.file;
my_FLVPlybk.source = file;
