I'm not sure where to post this topic, but I am wanting a simple mp3 player to play some audio for a band website I am building. Nothing flashy just a simple single line bar. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

Ok guys put your thinking camps on. Here's the deal:

I have been using a ustream.tv embed player on my page to broadcast our services live for almost 3 months. I switched to mogulus last week and now when I embed the player in my page it cause my separate chat window (http://yurivish.com/yshout/) to not appear ONLY IN IE 6 & 7. (Works fin in Firefox and safari Windows and MAC)

If I pull out the player my chat comes back. I'm guessing that the mogulus javascript file is causing some type of problem.

Any ideas?

I'm sure I am missing something obvious but...

What is the best way to explain to a client how to upload a .doc or .pdf and make available for download. This is not specific enough to add a custom weblog field. This is something that would go in the "body".  I know they can upload the file using "file upload" and insert it, but without teaching them HTML code and explain <a href> is there an easier way to do it.

I probably get asked this the most.

Any ideas?

I am trying to install the Yshout ( http://yurivish.com/yshout/ ) chat module onto our churches web streaming page. It is working great on everything but IE, where it's not showing up at all. I didn't know if anyone could look at it and give me any ideas:

http://www.rivercitywc.com/live

Just a heads up the HTML does not validate because of the video embed window from Ustream.tv but other than that I have fixed all the bugs.

Thanks for any help you can give. I am trying to get this up and running before service tonight. I just realized it wasn't functioning on a PC.

Thanks

I think this might be a javascript issue but since it involved EE I thought I would post here to see if I could get anywhere.

I am using the simple commerce module in EE and I hate how when you "Add" or "View" an item it opens up another window to cover up your site....So I am using shadowbox to create a javascript pop up with the sizes I want. The problem is once it loads for about  1 second it reloads and goes to the Paypal site on top of my shadowbox.

I'm not sure if this is a paypal security issue or not.

I think the issue is with the parameters for the simple commerce module, because if I change the link to google it works fine. Somehow because the link is linked to a specific entry it's like it rechecks the page or something.

You can take a look at the page here if you would like.

Also here is the code:

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="store" disable="member_data|trackbacks" limit="1"}

				<a href=""><img src="{item_image}" class="product_image" alt="" border="" /></a><br /><h2>"{item_name}"</h2>
                               <p>{item_description}<br /><br />
{exp:simple_commerce:purchase entry_id="{entry_id}" success="site/success" cancel="site/index"}

<p><strike><span>Regular Price:${item_regular_price}</span></strike></p>
<p><strong><span>Pre-Order Price:${item_sale_price}</span></strong></p>
<p><a rel="shadowbox;width=820;height=400" class="option" title="Add to Cart" href="{add_to_cart_url}"><img src="images/v2/addtocart.jpg" class="cart_button" alt="" border="" /></a>

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this question....

I am wanting to create an FTP upload page for a few contributors to get their videos to me.

It would be something like this:

www.example.com/upload

Similar to using any company like Kinkos, etc. on their websites. I have googled for a tutorial or something and I can't find anything. Would anyone know How I could fin more info on getting this done?

Thanks

hmmm...I wonder my my sites haven't done this in the past. I guess maybe I was using colors that weren't effected.

So is there no compromise?

Do you just have to choose for your colors not to match on one browser?

Is there any reason why my site on Safari (Mac) would look correct with my background color matching the bottom of bg.jpg, but on IE (PC) the background color would not match. It's like a shade lighter.

Shouldn't RGB color numbers be consistent across the board.

Would it be because I'm using .jpg  and not .gif on my image.

Weird?

Is it possible to have the same EE install to function across subdirectories.

For example. I have EE installed at

mydomain.com

With the same install can I also create data for:

subdirectory.mydomain.com

Thanks,
Jason

I have set up an under construction page at

http://www.forwardleadership.org

with a simple email address form so we can let people know when the site is up. The problem is when I log into my Contorl Panel and try to view the mailing list I get this error message.

MySQL ERROR:

Error Number: 1054

Description: Unknown column 'ip_address' in 'field list'

Query: SELECT user_id, list_id, email, ip_address FROM exp_mailing_list WHERE list_id = '1'

Any ideas?

Some of you may have seen my post under "Website Critique" for

http://www.jbirdmedia.org/projects/kycog/

The way I have the different colors laid out in the background right now is just with a simple bg.jpg, and that worked for the front page because of fixed heights but that will not work for the content pages depending on how much content goes on a page.

How could I lay this out while still keeping a 930px wrapper and have the navy blue areas for my content extend as long as I need?

No I'm actually using "Jquery.cycle.js" I have started using Javascript for my slides so that they will show on an iPhone (or any mobile browser)

It's a really simple script to use.

CHeck it out here:

No, this is the church of god (Cleveland TN)

http://www.churchofgod.org

Check out my design and layout

http://www.jbirdmedia.org/projects/kycog

This site is for a denominational state office. There is no functionality to the site, I just used images to make sure I liked the way it looked.

A couple of thoughts...
1. Did I go to "Icon Crazy"? They wanted a lot of links on the front page so I tried to make it look a little more appealing than just a bunch of text.
2. I'm not crazy about the nav rollovers. They're pretty boring, what do you think?
3. Do you like the "tanish" color for my tabs box, any other color suggestions?

Thanks for the feedback,
Jason

I was just curious....I know there are different circumstances for different types of projects, but for a business or church site with CMS and design, what do you normally estimate project time to be for your bids?

I have found myself being rushed towards the end of projects lately. I was wondering If I wasn't giving myself enough time. Right now I say 4-8 weeks.

What about you?

One piece of advice. DON"T USE FAITH HIGHWAY!

They always under deliver on their product promises. I have been hired to replace 3 Faith Highway sites in the last year.

I would recommend Expression Engine. I use it and have installed on 5 church sites this year.

Just my 2 cents!

Thanks for that response but I think at this point I am wanting to just use the standard "out of the box" registration through EE. That is If I can figure out how to work it.

It's odd because so many sites have that option but there are no tutorials on how to do it.

Thanks

Okay let me specific. I am trying to set up a member registration page. i have searched High and Low for a good tutorial or screencast but I can't find one. I purchased Boyink's screencast from Train-EE which will be helpful later, but he specifically doesn't talk about how to create registration. I also found this one:

http://www.pragprog.com/screencasts/v-r … sionengine

But it does the same thing.

So I need some help if anyone is willing.

At this point I have copied and pasted the "Registration Form" from the "Member profile templates" you can see what it looks like here:

http://www.nocog.net/index.php?/site/me … istration/

What is the {custom field}? should I already have that set up? and what are all the {lang} tags?

Thanks for any help!

As for the member registration.....

Using the code posted above

{exp:member:login_form return="clients/index"}
	<p><label>Username</label><br />
	<input type="text" name="username" value="" maxlength="32" class="input" size="25" /></p>
	<p><label>Password</label><br />
	<input type="password" name="password" value="" maxlength="32" class="input" size="25" /></p>
	{if auto_login}
		<p><input class='checkbox' type='checkbox' name='auto_login' value='1' /> Auto-login on future visits</p>
	{/if}
	<p><input class='checkbox' type='checkbox' name='anon' value='1' checked='checked' /> Show my name in the online users list</p>
	<p><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /></p>
	<p><a href="{path=member/forgot_password}">Forgot your password?</a></p>
{/exp:member:login_form}

This is already linked to the necessary files to create a member profile?

These are not in any particular order and they are not connected, but I've been wondering...

1. Someone told me on here awhile back that Slideshow pro could be run through EE, could you explain that for me. (Does that mean I don't need slideshow pro director)

2. Where can I find how to add and style a member registration form and member sign in page. (does the specifics of setting that up get covered in the "Members only Content" screencast on Trainee?)

3. How hard (or is it possible) to have site where pastors (who are registered members) be able to upload there sermons and graphics, etc. for other members to use. I am wanting to create an area for shared ministry resources.

Anyone have any answers?

Thanks

Ok guys I have made all the changes and it is still not working. (the bottom scrollbar I mean) The slideshow is working fine.

I have cleaned up all the errors
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1 … atl.com%2F

And condensed and changed the javascript. Still no luck!

On IE when you click one of the arrows it just goes back to the top of the page adding a "#" to the end of the address and give me an "error" sign at the bottom of the page.

Any ideas?
