I am trying to create a "flash like" audio player  for a new site using a jquery slideUp to a hidden div with the audio player in it. The problem is because the <div> is hidden when you close it, the music stops and restarts when you open it.

Is there a way to have the music keep playing even when the div is closed, or even just pause and not start over?

You can see it here: http://jbirdmedia.org/clintbrown/

I'm using this player: http://www.macloo.com/examples/audio_player/

Any ideas?

I'm trying to add a site for the first time and having a good bit of trouble. I've tried to use the EE docs, but it assumes that I know what 'm doing, and evidently I don't. Does anyone know a good tutorial or screencast for this topic.

I guess one question I need answered is do I have to keep all the sites inside 1 folder. I'm hosting the 2 sites on the same account in subfdolers with add on domains. For example:

my current site (single install) is http://faithworld.com and the files are located at "http://jbirdmedia.org/faithworld

The new site I want to add on is located at http://jbirdmedia.org/clintbrown

Is that possible or does the new sites folder have to be in the "Faithoworld" folder?

Thanks,
Jason

Ok here's the deal, I am using EE for a member database for our youth group. I know EE is not intended to be used for a church database for giving, and checkin and everything, but I am using some basic member features, and it's works fine.

So here is my question, I need a way to check them in individually on Wednesday nights. I know there is a not a "normal" way to do this so I was wondering if anyone had any creative ideas on how to accomplish this. I just need to have a way to know whether or not they attended.

I'm interested to hear some suggestions.

Thanks,
Jason

So I know I should know how to do this, because I've done it before at some point but I am striking out for some reason. I am wanting to display my events based on categories. For example when a ministry leader goes to publish a new event they can categorize it and then only the events for their ministry show up on their ministry page. (so on the kids page you only see kids events)

Here is what I've done so far:
1. Created a Weblog for "events"
2. created a category called "events" and assigned it to my "events" weblog

my current code displaying all events is

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="events" disable="member_data|trackbacks" sort="asc" dynamic="off"}

			<li><p class="big_date">{event_day}</p>
			<p class="event_title"><a href="{url_title_path=v2/events}">{title}</a><br />
			{event_month} {event_day}, {event_year}</p></li>

			<div class="clear"></div>

			{/exp:weblog:entries}

What category stuff do I need to add to display category only content. As of right now I have 2 categories named "kids" and "students"

Any ideas?

Thanks for the try John but still no luck. I used phpFlickr successfully on a my static site, but if I try to use it in my EE templates I get LOTS of php code at the top of my page. That's why I started trying eeFlickr, but still no luck.

Any other ideas?

I am trying to display flickr photos on an EE site for my church. I have used phpFlickr and successfully accomplished this at: http://jbirdmedia.org/projects/rivercity

but when I try to use eeFlickr I'm having no luck. I don't get errors or anything, I just get no pictures displayed. I have
already posted in EE forums but have got no response. I just wanted to take a shot on Godbit and see if anyone had any
suggestions.

I have already:
1. Installed eeFickr module
2. Put in my Flickr API in the modules setting
3. Put the following code in my template

{exp:eeflickr:photos_search  user_id="44570630@N02" page="{segment_4}" per_page="16"}

    {eeflickr:photos_search_loop}
        <div style="float:left; text-align:center; height:80px; width:80px; overflow:hidden;">
          <a href="/picture/{id}/"><img src="http://farm{farm}.static.flickr.com/{server}/{id}_{secret}_s.jpg" alt="{title}" /></a>
        </div>
    {/eeflickr:photos_search_loop}

{/exp:eeflickr:photos_search}

I have tried so many different things this code is just copied and pasted from the eeFlickr page in an attempt to get
something.  You can find more info at:
http://www.lumis.com/eeflickr/

I've also posted this in the flash forum...

You can see the site here:
http://jbirdmedia.org/projects/nvmc

In the top header area I have a slideshow with different images from the church, but before those show I want to play a 20 second video clip (.swf) of the church. I have the flash file working fine, my questions is how do I have the video play over the slideshow, and after it's finished playing 1 time it goes away so my slideshow plays?

Any Ideas?

That's close, but the problem is it just puts the sunburst at the bottom of the 'div' and not the page. In other words it only goes to the bottom of the' wrapper' content.

My bad let me explain a little further. I don't have a transperancy problem. I need to know how to make these 3 images work for my "bg.jpg" while the clouds and sky repeat, but the sunburst doesn't.

I can't put the sunburst as the background to any other "div" because I need it to always be at the bottom center of the page.

Any ideas?

I've got 3 images:
- background cardboard
- cardboard clouds
- bottom sunburst

These would ideally be a great "bg.jpg" but I need the clouds and cardboard bg to repeat and the sunburst not to repeat and be bottom center.

Right now I've combined the clouds and the cardboard and made:
http://jbirdmedia.org/projects/engage/images/bg.jpg

And I have:
http://jbirdmedia.org/projects/engage/i … nburst.jpg

You can see what I'm going for here:
http://jbirdmedia.org/projects/engage/webpic.jpg

And this is what I currently have but can't figure out to incorporate the sunburst.

What path's are involved. I would be doing a fresh install as far as domain goes, where exactly are the weblog files located?

(4 replies, posted in Content Management)

I have asked a similar question in the past but I was still curious....

Is it possible to have pre built weblogs and custom fields already built in to EE before the install. I know that there is already a "Default Weblog" out of the box, but could I also add, "About", or "Contact" to save time since I have to add those to every site anyway?

I'm sure there is a way but not sure if it's even worth the hassle.

Any Ideas?

I have designed many sites with EE now but oddly enough I have never had to design a site that allowed the client to customize their own navigation as needed down the road.

I was wondering how I could do this. I mean I know I could create a generic weblog for "nav" buttons but that wouldn't actually be the links based on page creations etc.

For example  I give the client a site with 4 buttons but in 3 months they want to add a youth group button under the ministries, or they want to add add a contact button to the home page nav.

How do I do that?

Ok so I have looked over it a few times and 'm confused. I don't think this will work for me because I have multiple custom fields for my entries.

{If worship_leader== Stu} then display {stu_pic} & {stu_description}

but

{If worship_leader== Andrea} then display {andrea_pic} & {andrea_description}

the {If worship_leader== Stu} comes from the "weblog=service setup" but their info comes from weblog="worship_leaders" with conditionals

Any ideas?

I am trying to set up a page in EE that is a little complicated in theory. I am setting up a page where during service times we "edit" the weblog "service_setup" allowing the admin to turn on the video player, chat window, etc.

But after the service is over they go in and turn everything off for a generic template.

I have added the {if} variables and everything was working fine until I went and added separate weblog for the content that actually goes inside the {if} variables. And now they content will not show up. I hope that make since. I'm guessing that the problem lies somewhere with the fact that I have 2 weblogs open at the same time before closing one.

I looked over the forums and docs and found where I could add more than weblog by putting weblog="service_setup | speakers" but that screwed everything up.

here is my code

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="service_setup" disable="member_data|trackbacks" sort="asc" dynamic="off"}

{if videoplayer == "On"}

content

{/if}

{if videoplayer == "Off"}

content

{/if}

{if chat == "On"}

content

{/if}

{if chat == "Off"}

content

{/if}

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="worship_leader" disable="member_data|trackbacks" sort="asc" dynamic="off"}

 {content}

{/exp:weblog:entries}

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="speakers" disable="member_data|trackbacks" sort="asc" dynamic="off"}

 {content}

{/exp:weblog:entries}
{/exp:weblog:entries}

Let it be known that I am a copy and paster javascript user. I am learning it more and more but still do not understand the concept of the code.

But I am doing something on all of my sites that breaks all of my Javascript in IE and Firefox PC. Mostly I use the jquery.jcarousellite.pack.js, and some ui.tabs but no matter what I do none of it ever works in those browsers. Everything works great in Safari, and Firefox MAC

I was wondering if somone could help me out and let me know why that would be. Here is some example code for you.

thanks I tried that but no luck. Any other ideas? Normally it's a IE 6 problem but this is constant thru all IE. I have googled and haven't found anything.

Ok It's only the ui.tabs the toggle.fade is working fine. It just didn't look right because of the tabs messing it up but it is correct.

Any ideas?

Hey I was wondering if someone could take a look at my code and let me know why my ui.tabs nd my jquery toggle.fade is not working in IE. It's good in Firefox and Safari.

I am a brilliant copy and paste javascripter : )

When it comes to actually editing javascripts I am clueless, so I am hoping that someone out there can help me. I am using the Coda Slider 1.1 ( I know there is a newer version "glider" but this seemed to be easier for me)

you can see my site here:
http://www.jbirdmedia.org/projects/imagine

My issue is the nav tabs that get created automatically each time a panel is created( it pushed my content down). I have my own navigation that I have created, and it is working fine I just want to get rid of there "panel" buttons, and the "left" and "right" links. I tried to just do a text-indent in my css but that doesn't fix the spacing issue.

Here is the javascript file:

Any ideas?

I have tried using browsershots.org but I am getting some weird stuff going on. I was wondering if any of you guys could take a look on IE and Firefox PC.

I am using a fixed sidebar which was giving me some issues but I think I have it worked out.

I appreciate it,
Jason

thanks jpc10 but I am needing something more graphically attractive for that "cool band site" look. I do love all of the JWL stuff though.

I actually found the perfect one. In case anyone is interested: http://www.macloo.com/examples/audio_player/

Hi Luke, I'm very interested in working with you. Please contact me and let me know more details, pay, time, etc.

I am working on a site for a band. It is 1 page that will scroll as far down as needed with the nav linked to the "divs" I would like for the sidebar to stay fixed so that no matter where the page is scrolled the links are always visible.

All of my code validates but according to browsershots.org my pages are all screwed in IE 6 & 7 and PC Firefox. I have a "position:fixed" on my div.contentleft

here is the page look it over and let me know: http://www.jbirdmedia.org/projects/tsp

Everything looks good in Safari and Firefox on mac.
